MEERA AHMAD is a PhD student at the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. She is documenting Peoples' forums and struggles for justice in cases of riots, POTA and fake encounters of Muslims in Gujarat and its larger socio-political impact.

BRINDA BOSE is Associate Professor of English at the University of Delhi, and is also at www.marghumanities.org.

GITI CHANDRA is Associate Professor at the Dept of English, St Stephen's College. She is the author of Narrating Violence, Constructing Collective Identities: To witness these wrongs unspeakable (Macmillan UK/US, 2009) and The Fang of Summoning (Hachette, 2010). The sequel to The Fang of Summoning called The Bones of Stars is due to be published by Hachette in February 2013.

DARIUS COOPER teaches Critical Thinking in the Humanities and Film at San Diego Mesa College. He has published Between Tradition and Modernity:The Cinema of Satyajit Ray (Cambridge University Press, 2000), In Black and White:Hollywood Melodrama and Guru Dutt (Seagull Books, 2004) and a book of poetry Beyond the Chameleon's Skill (Poetrywalla, 2012).

ANTARA DAS has studied English Literature at Jadavpur University and has previously worked with Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Hindu.

V. GEETHA is a feminist writer and translator, interested in caste, labour, history and education. Currently, she is Editorial Director, Tara Books, Chennai.

SOMAK GHOSHAL read English at University College, Oxford, on a Rhodes Scholarship. He writes on literature, the arts, politics and culture.

SAGARIKA GHOSE is Deputy Editor of CNNIBN. She has been a journalist for over 20 years, having worked with The Times of India, Outlook and The Indian Express. She is the author of two novels The Gin Drinkers (HarperCollins India, 1999) and Blind Faith (Harper Perennial, 2005) and is a columnist with The Hindustan Times.

RAKHSHANDA JALIL has translated a collection of Manto's writings entitled Naked Voices: Stories and Sketches (Roli, 2008).

ANANT MARINGANTI is an independent scholar based in Hyderabad. He was a member of the Committee of Concerned Citizens initiative which facilitated the talks between the then CPIM-ML Maoist Peoples War and the government of Andhra Pradesh in 2004.

SHALINI MUKERJI is an independent writer, researcher and editor. She enjoys reading books, travelling and collecting stories that gather up the world.

SUDEEP PAUL is an assistant editor with the Opinion Pages of The Indian Express, New Delhi.

VIKRAMAJIT RAM writes about buildings, people and wildlife. His latest book is Tso and La: A Journey in Ladakh (HarperCollins India, 2012).

ANITA ROY is senior editor at Zubaan and is co-editor with Urvashi Butalia of Women Changing India (Zubaan, 2011).

MOHAMMAD SAJJAD is Assistant Professor, Centre of Advanced Study in History, Aligarh Muslim University.

PARVATI SHARMA is a writer based in New Delhi. Her first book is called The Dead Camel and Other Stories of Love.

MAYUR SURESH is a PhD Candidate at the School of Law, Birkbeck College, London and is doing research on terrorism trials in Delhi.

SIDDIQ WAHID is a political historian of Central Asia and Tibet. He is currently Director of the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of Kashmir Studies. Prior to these, he was a Vice Chancellor and a Professor of History in several institutions.
