MANI SHANKAR AIYAR was India’s first Consul-General in Karachi, 1978-82, and has published his Pakistan Papers (UBSPD, 1994).

SEEMA ALAVI is a Professor of History at the University of Delhi. Her latest book is Muslim Cosmopolitanism in the Age of Empire (Harvard University Press, 2015).

MOHSIN ALAM BHAT is an Assistant Professor of Law at the Jindal Global Law School, where he teaches jurisprudence and researches on socio-legal issues. He received his doctorate from Yale Law School. He works on the themes of discrimination and exclusion, including affirmative action and hate crimes.

BRINDA BOSE teaches English Literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her book, The Audacity of Pleasure: Sexualities, Literature and Cinema in India, was published by Three Essays Collective early
this year.

URVASHI BUTALIA is a feminist writer and publisher and head of Zubaan Publishers.

NANDINI CHANDRA teaches in the Department of English at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

SUPRIYA CHAUDHURI is Professor Emerita in the Department of English, Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

MANDAKINI DUBEY is an Assistant Professor of English and Writing at Ashoka University. Since completing her PhD in English at Duke University, she has taught in the US and India, and is now based in New Delhi.

FARAH FAROOQI teaches in the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education at Jamia Millia Islamia.

GERALDINE FORBES is a historian of women and gender in colonial India and is Distinguished Teaching Professor Emerita, State University of New York Oswego.

SHOHINI GHOSH is Sajjad Zaheer Professor at the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia.

GHAZALA JAMIL teaches in the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

BRUCE KING is the author of Modern Indian Poetry in English (Oxford University Press, 1987, revised 2001), Three Indian Poets: Ezekiel, Ramanujan, and Moraes (OUP, 1991, revised 2005), ReWriting India: Eight Writers(OUP, 2014), and his autobiography, An Interesting Life, So Far (Ibidem, 2017).

AKSHAYA KUMAR is a Professor of English at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He is the author of A.K.Ramanujan: In Profile and Fragment (Rawat, 2004) and Poetry, Politics and Culture (Routledge, 2009).

NANDINI LAL is a Washington DC-based writer, critic and columnist

SHIVSHANKAR MENON is a former Foreign Secretary and National Security Advisor to the Government of India. He is the author of Choices: Inside the Making of Indian Foreign Policy (Penguin Random House India, 2016).

UDIT MISRA is Associate Editor of Business Standard. He is in charge of the newspaper’s editorial page.

NILANJAN MUKHOPADHYAY is a Delhi-based author and journalist. His books include Narendra Modi: The Man, The Times(Tranquebar Press, 2013). His forthcoming book is on select iconic
Hindu nationalist leaders.

JAWED NAQVI is a freelance writer.

ANUPAMA RAJU is a poet and literary journalist. Her book of poems, Nine, was published in 2015 by Speaking Tiger Books.

SUVRAT RAJU is a theoretical physicist with the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (Bangalore) and a member of the Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace. The views expressed are personal.

VIKRAMAJIT RAM is the author of Elephant Kingdom: Sculptures from Indian Architecture (Mapin, 2007), Dreaming Vishnus: A Journey through Central India (Penguin, 2008), Tso and La: A Journey in Ladakh (HarperCollins, 2008) and a novel, The Sun and Two Seas (SpeakingTiger, 2016). He lives in Bangalore.

AMRITA SEN works on early modern colonial history and literature. She has published on East India Company women, Bollywood appropriations of Shakespeare, and early modern ethnography. She is the co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of Early Modern Cultural Studies on “Alternative Histories of the East India Company”.

SUDHIRENDAR SHARMA is an independent writer, researcher and academic.

SANJAY SRIVASTAVA is a Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi.

PARANJOY GUHA THAKURTA is a writer, teacher, publisher, film-maker and consultant, mainly on political-economy and the media.

FAIZ ULLAH works in the School of Media and Cultural Studies at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

VIDYA VENKAT is a Chennai-based journalist working on issues of social justice and development. She has been a Felix scholar at SOAS, London, (2011-12) and will begin her doctoral studies there in September.

FARAH YAMEEN is a public historian and digital archivist. She writes on food, culture and literature.
